RASC News Agency: According to local sources from Panjshir province, four residents of the province have been detained by the Taliban on charges of collaborating with the “Afghanistan Freedom Front.” Sources informed the media on Thursday, Feb 8, that the Taliban had detained these individuals in the past week from the center of Panjshir province and the districts of Rokha and Onaba.
According to the sources, two of those detained, identified as “Sanaullah” and “Sayed Ansar,” are from the center and the Onaba district, but the identities of the other two detainees from the Rokha district are still unclear. Sources specify that two of the detained individuals from the center and the Onaba district of Panjshir had grocery shops in the bazaar of Bazarak, while the other two detainees from the Rokha district were merchants in the “Barkh” market.
Local Taliban authorities in Panjshir province have not yet commented on this matter. The detention of Panjshir residents by the Taliban is not a new development, as this group has repeatedly detained residents of the province on charges of collaborating with opposing fronts from this province and other provinces.
The Taliban in Panjshir have been accused of widespread human rights violations in this province, including allegations of detaining, torturing, and killing civilians on charges of having connections with the “National Resistance Front.”
