RASC: According to local sources in Kunduz province, Mawlawi Yaqoub, the senior commander of the Taliban group, was shot dead by members of the National Resistance Front.
Sources say that this commander of the Taliban group was killed on Wednesday, July 5, in the village of Sakhidad Bai, Omarkhel, Aliabad district of this province.
According to the sources, the slain commander of the Taliban group was working as the head of one of the intelligence departments in the 217th Omari Corps of this group in Kunduz.
Mawlawi Yaqoub was known as a secret guerilla of the Taliban during the previous government by this group, and he was involved in the killing of many former forces in this province.
It is also said that Najmuddin, a member of the Taliban intelligence, was also injured in this attack.
It should be mentioned that the Taliban group has arrested two of the local residents on the charge of assassinating this commander.
The activity of anti-Taliban military movements has recently increased in different parts of the country.
