RASC: A number of Afghanistani students have been complaining about the non-issuance of study visas for Afghanistani citizens by the Indian government for the past two years.
These students, who are studying in India at various stages, have demanded that the Taliban group address the issue of visas for Afghanistani students.
According to Tolo News: Ebrahim Niazpour, who is one of the professors of Kabul University, came to Kabul to complete his research project. However, the Indian government has canceled his study visa and a large number of Afghanistani students after the political changes in Afghanistan.
Ibrahim Niazpour told TOLOnews: “I came to Afghanistan in 2021 due to the terrible spread of Corona virus and because my instructor said that I should collect some more research materials, and there were political developments here, and then unfortunately they declared our valid Indian visa invalid.
Nasir Agha Shirzad, a student, said: “Our request from the Taliban group is that they determine our fate and give us visas and help us to return to India.”
Meanwhile, Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid says that the group is in contact with Indian authorities to resolve the issue.
Mr. Mujahid said: “There is a problem with India’s visa, we have talked to India several times to ease their visa process, because some of our patients, businessmen and students go to education, this problem exists from their side, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in its call to find a solution to this challenge.
At the same time, Mr. Mujahid made this promise, while since their domination of the country, girls above the sixth grade were forbidden from going to school, and the gates of universities were also blocked for girls.
It should be mentioned that after the Taliban took control of Afghanistan, a number of countries closed their embassies in Kabul, which led to problems and challenges in the process of issuing visas to the country’s citizens.
China, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, United Arab Emirates and Qatar are among the countries that currently grant visas to Afghanistani citizens.
