RASC: The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), coinciding with the International Day against Child Labor, said on Monday that one in five children in Afghanistan is forced to work.

This organization says: “22 percent of these children do dangerous and deadly work.”

The office of this organization in Kabul announced by releasing a video that “the situation of child labor in this country is getting worse.”

“Recent political changes and humanitarian crises have played a profound role in forcing children to work,” UNICEF said.

According to this organization, 1.6 million children are working in Afghanistan.

However, the information of the Taliban group is more than this. An official of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Taliban said in a meeting in Kabul, “more than 3 million children are engaged in hard work and on the road.”

Working children in Afghanistan are part of 160 million children in the world who are forced to work to earn money and support their families instead of going to school.

In addition to work, UNICEF has considered lack of food and malnutrition as another challenge for Afghan children.
