The Arrest of a Number of Residents of Panjshir Province by the Taliban Group

RASC: Sources in Panjshir province say that some men and youths from this province who recently returned from Iran detained and interrogated by the Taliban group. These sources confirm the arrest of 8 people.

A source, who asked to remain anonymous, says two weeks ago, one of his relatives arrested after arriving in Company area of ​​Kabul city and held in the custody of the Taliban group for two weeks.

According to this source, the Taliban think that every person who came from Iran will join the military fronts against the Taliban. The source says, “They ask the detainees why they came to Afghanistan at this time of the year.” According to the source, the Taliban group even investigates students.

According to the sources, in the months of April and May, this year, the intelligence of the Taliban group has arrested at least eight people from the center and districts of Dara and Paryan of Panjshir province. The source said: “2 residents of Panjshir center, 3 from Dara district and 1 from Peryan district were recently arrested and released after some time.”

A source claims that the security governor of the Taliban group in Panjshir has also ordered his people to investigate the reason for the return of those who come from Iran.

According to the source, the Taliban group has told its members to prevent people returning from Iran for joining the “resistance front” and even imprison them.

The Taliban group previously been accused of arresting the youths of Panjshiri who had crossed the border from Iran.

The residents of Panjshir, including former military personnel, have gone to Iran due to unemployment and the threat of the Taliban group.
