Hafiz Mansoor: Pakistan Would Suffer Heavy Losses if It Attacks Afghanistan

RASC News Agency: Hafiz Mansoor, a former member of Afghanistan’s House of Representatives, has warned against any potential Pakistani military action against Afghanistan in a brief statement published on his Facebook page.

Mansoor wrote that Pakistan “should not attack Afghanistan/Khorasan,” emphasizing that in the event of such an attack, Islamabad would face “heavy losses.”

He did not provide further details regarding the basis of his warning or the possible circumstances he was referring to. His remarks come, however, amid rising border tensions and growing security concerns between the two countries in recent months.

Relations between the Taliban authorities and Pakistan have experienced repeated verbal disputes and sporadic border clashes since the political developments of 2021 and the Taliban’s return to power. Pakistani officials have previously expressed concern over the presence and activities of anti-Pakistan armed groups operating from Afghanistan’s territory an issue that remains one of the central points of contention between the two sides.

As of now, Pakistani officials have not issued a public response to Mansoor’s latest comments.
