RASC News Agency: On the morning of Friday, April 11, a young man was executed by firing squad in the city of Zaranj, the capital of Nimruz province, by direct order of the Taliban, under the guise of enforcing “Sharia law.” The public execution has triggered a wave of condemnation from human rights organizations and civil society groups, who have decried the act as a blatant violation of fundamental human rights and international legal norms. Reports indicate that the order for the execution was issued by Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, the Taliban’s supreme leader an individual whose rule has become synonymous with repression, violence, and the erosion of basic freedoms. Many analysts argue that Afghanistan, under Taliban control, has effectively become a state devoid of legal accountability, where the concept of justice has been reduced to an instrument of fear and authoritarian dominance.
Human rights advocates have denounced the execution as a grotesque misuse of power. They are calling upon international bodies, human rights organizations, and independent media outlets to break their silence and publicly oppose such acts, which are carried out under a rigid and extremist interpretation of Islamic law. “Justice must never become a weapon in the hands of tyrants.”
This is the resounding message of those striving to be the voice for Afghanistan’s silenced those who now live under the shadow of judicial terror disguised as religious duty.
