RASC News Agency: Local Taliban authorities from Daykundi Province have announced that cash has been distributed to more than four thousand individuals in five districts of the province during the current solar month. Mohammadullah Iqbal, the head of the Taliban’s economic department in Daykundi, stated to the media on Monday, Feb 12, that 4,355 individuals in five districts of this province have received $112 US dollars, equivalent to 8,289 kabuli Rupees in cash.
According to the head of the Taliban’s economic department in Daykundi Province, the “Afghan Aid” institution, under the financial support of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, has facilitated this cash assistance. The Taliban official added that this cash assistance has been distributed to the residents of Shahristan, Miramor, Oshtarly, Patu, and Nili districts.
This comes as several years of drought have led to various economic challenges, especially in central regions of the country like Daykundi. Meanwhile, the Taliban have prohibited women from working in United Nations offices, and the Taliban’s Ministry of Economy issued an order banning Afghanistani women from working in government and non-governmental organization offices, exacerbating the situation.
The United Nations and other active organizations providing assistance in Afghanistan have demanded the reversal of these orders, but so far, there has been no change in the Taliban’s position on this matter.
