RASC News Agency: A silent protester stood outside the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, delivering a powerful, wordless message of dissent. On Wednesday, March 26, the man positioned himself in front of the Ministry building, his mere presence serving as a striking form of protest. According to reports, the protester wore a white outfit, stained with what appeared to be blood. Images circulating in the media depict the man with a cardboard house perched on his head, from which roots hung, submerged in a bottle of water.
Affixed to the cardboard house was an image of Carsten Thomassen, a Norwegian journalist killed in the Taliban’s 2008 attack on Kabul’s Serena Hotel on January 14. Beneath the image was the date of his death, accompanied by a powerful phrase that caught the attention of all who passed by: “A bullet took his life, and a signature took his cause.” Beside this image, a caricature of Norway’s foreign minister depicted him holding an axe made from the Norwegian flag, seemingly severing the roots hanging from the cardboard house. The accompanying text reinforced the protest’s message: “Norwegian Democracy, Bloody Diplomacy, and Do Not Sever Our Roots with Your Diplomacy.”
The protester was also spotted throughout surrounding streets, in the metro, on buses, and amid crowds, where he communicated his message silently through his placards, drawing the attention of those around him. Passersby, almost involuntarily, found themselves reading his placards. Although the exact start and duration of the protest remain unknown, sources have reported that the individual has refused to speak to anyone. When questioned about the purpose of his protest, he simply raised a placard reading: “Prevent the Handover of the Afghanistan’s Embassy to the Taliban.”
