RASC News Agency: Ali Maisam Nazary, Head of Foreign Relations for the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, has declared that observing Nowruz is not merely a cultural celebration but a symbolic act of defiance against the Taliban’s rule. In his New Year’s message, Nazary encouraged the Afghanistani people to widely and proudly commemorate this historic occasion, emphasizing that the Taliban view Nowruz as an ideological threat and seek to erase it. “A grand, dignified, and widespread celebration of Nowruz is the strongest rejection of this terrorist regime,” he asserted.
Nazary argued that the Taliban’s opposition to Nowruz makes its celebration an act of resistance. “It is a moral obligation for every patriot and freedom-loving Afghanistani to stand against the Taliban and their like-minded extremists those who seek to plunge our society into darkness. By commemorating Nowruz and its traditions, which unite all ethnic groups of Afghanistan, we send a powerful message of defiance.” He further emphasized that the fighters of the Resistance Front are not only engaged in military resistance but are also committed to safeguarding Afghanistan’s cultural and spiritual heritage.
“The true heirs of this ancient land are not only fighting for national dignity and freedom but are also defending our rich cultural, historical, and civilizational values.” Nazary described Afghanistan as the rightful guardian of the Nowruz tradition, urging its people to actively preserve and promote this cultural legacy. “As the principal custodians of Nowruz, the Afghanistani people must play a greater role than ever in strengthening the country’s Nowruz identity by reviving and amplifying its customs and rituals.”
The Resistance Front official concluded by affirming that celebrating Nowruz is an act of defiance, resilience, and cultural resistance against the Taliban’s rule.
