Ahmad Massoud: With the Help of the Sons of Shahnameh, We Will Restore Freedom to Our Homeland

RASC News Agency: Ahmad Massoud, leader of the National Resistance Front, extended his New Year’s greetings to the people of Afghanistan. In his Nowruz message, he wrote:

“This day represents not just a celebration, but a solemn pledge a pledge of resilience and unwavering commitment to the path that leads to freedom.” Massoud emphasized that, even in the darkest days, the anti-Taliban forces have kept the hope of spring and freedom alive. He further asserted his unwavering resolve to continue the fight for Afghanistan’s liberation, vowing to persist in this struggle until the Taliban’s rule is overturned.

In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, March 21, Massoud wrote:

“With God’s grace, and the support of the heirs of justice and the sons of Shahnameh, we pledge to return Nowruz not just to the calendar, but to the heart of our homeland infused with determination, resilience, and in the name of freedom.” Yesterday, the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan issued a statement, announcing that in the past year of relentless struggle, over 600 Taliban fighters were killed, and approximately 500 others were wounded in operations carried out by their forces.

The Front, led by Massoud, noted that its most concentrated attacks took place in Kabul, Panjshir, Kapisa, Parwan, Balkh, Farah, Faryab, and Takhar, with more than 100 operations carried out in Kabul alone. The National Resistance Front, a committed anti-Taliban military force, has consistently launched operations against the Taliban over the past three years, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of Taliban fighters. Over the last three years, both the National Resistance Front and the Freedom Front have repeatedly reported attacks against the Taliban in various regions, particularly in Kabul. However, the Taliban has remained silent in response to these claims, as is their customary practice when confronted with allegations from opposing military groups.
