UK Parliament Condemns Taliban’s Treatment of Afghanistani Women and Girls as ‘Barbaric and Inhumane’

RASC News Agency: The United Kingdom’s Parliament, in a strongly worded statement, has denounced the Taliban’s systematic oppression of Afghanistani women and girls, calling their actions “barbaric” and “deeply inhumane.” British lawmakers have urged the Taliban to immediately revoke their draconian policies and warned that their brutal rule must not go unchallenged. In an official statement published on the UK Parliament’s website, legislators declared: “We are working closely with our international partners to sustain collective pressure. The Taliban’s cruelty and inhumanity should shock us all. We unequivocally condemn their ban on medical education for women.”

The statement further described the Taliban’s treatment of women as “repugnant and intolerable”, urging the international community to apply stronger diplomatic and economic measures against the regime. Since regaining power, the Taliban have systematically dismantled fundamental rights and freedoms, particularly those of women and girls, depriving them of their most basic human right the right to education. The Taliban’s ideology is deeply entrenched in a rigid tribal structure that fundamentally opposes women’s education, employment, and autonomy. Those who now rule Afghanistan were empowered by global intelligence networks, facilitating their rise and enabling them to impose their archaic and patriarchal values under the pretext of “Islamic Sharia.”

For the past three and a half years, this brutal and unjust oppression of women has been universally condemned by Islamic scholars, Muslim-majority nations, and religious institutions worldwide. Prominent figures within the Islamic world have consistently urged the Taliban to cease their disgraceful conduct, which tarnishes the image of Islam and the broader Muslim community. However, the Taliban have remained deaf to these calls, showing complete disregard for global and Islamic appeals for justice and human rights.
