RASC News Agency: Fawzia Koofi, a former member of Afghanistan’s House of Representatives, stated at the Munich Security Conference that she does not oppose principled engagement with the Taliban. In a video from her speech at the conference, Koofi emphasized her support for Afghanistani women while also expressing openness to principled dialogue with the Taliban. She further asserted that the post-Taliban government would be established with the participation of certain members of the group. Koofi also noted that she views the Taliban as a divided entity, distinguishing between “good” and “bad” factions within the group.

Koofi pointed out that Afghanistan has descended into a hellish and unsafe environment for women, with the Taliban worsening their living conditions. The 61st Munich Security Conference, held from February 16 to 17, dedicated the second day to the ongoing crisis in Afghanistan. During this session, various speakers addressed the country’s dire situation. The Taliban has been in power for over three years, and during this time, life for the Afghanistani people has become increasingly difficult. The Ministry for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice has imposed severe restrictions on the population, particularly women, as well as on the media.

Afghanistani citizens have expressed growing concerns over these restrictions. The Taliban’s intensifying limitations on daily life have led to fears for the safety and freedom of the population. People in Afghanistan have voiced complaints that the Taliban’s growing restrictions have put their lives at risk, and the situation continues to worsen as new constraints are enforced daily.
