RASC News Agency: Local sources from Daykundi Province report that a man in Miramor County of the province has fatally shot his son, who was addicted to drugs. Sources informed the media on Wednesday, February 14th, that the incident took place after dinner on Monday of the current week in the village of “Watanah” in the Four Hundred Houses district of Miramor County.

According to the sources, the victim, named Baqer, was killed by his 75-year-old father, and reportedly, the perpetrator has been detained by the Taliban group. Sources add that Baqer had been addicted to drugs for 25 years, and on Monday, while threatening his father’s family with a knife, his father targeted him with a “Panjteer” firearm and killed him.

Security officials from the Taliban group in Daykundi Province have not yet commented on the father’s killing of his son. Meanwhile, murder is considered one of the major criminal offenses that have increased in various areas after the Taliban’s control over the country. In a previous incident, a father in Faryab Province first beat his young daughter after complaints from his second wife’s family, then hanged her.
