Suicide Bombing at Taliban’s Ministry of Urban Development: High-Ranking Officials Among the Casualties

RASC News Agency: A suicide attack on February 14 targeted the Taliban-controlled Ministry of Urban Development and Housing in Kabul, resulting in multiple casualties, including senior Taliban officials. According to well-informed sources, the attack was devastating, with several high-ranking Taliban members killed or severely injured. Additionally, the identity of the suicide bomber has been revealed. A source disclosed:

“At approximately 9:00 AM, a powerful suicide bombing struck the premises of the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing in Kabul. The assailant, identified as Hafiz Hemat from Nadershahkot District, Khost Province, was granted entry by a Taliban security official and waited inside for nearly 20 minutes. Upon the arrival of the Deputy Minister for Finance and Administration, the attacker attempted to infiltrate the main building but was intercepted by Taliban security forces. In that instant, he detonated his explosives, killing 21 individuals and wounding 18 others.”

The source further confirmed that certain Taliban insiders had assisted the bomber in gaining access to the ministry’s compound. Confirmed Fatalities: Mufti Qaribullah Omari, Director General of Property Affairs, Mawlawi Fathullah, Director of Property Inspections, Hafiz Nooruddin Hamza, Secretary to the Deputy Minister, Mawlawi Abdulsami Mansoori, Deputy Director of Internal Audits, Qari Mutiullah, Commander of the Ministry’s Protective Unit Four members of the Ministry’s Second Security Battalion Twelve Taliban personnel stationed in the ministry’s administrative offices

Injured Individuals: Mawlawi Arsalan Kharoti, Deputy Minister, Mufti Abdulrahim Omari, Director of Property Affairs, Two security guards assigned to the Deputy Minister, One operative from the Taliban’s Intelligence Directorate, One financial trustee from the Deputy Minister’s office, Two urban planning officials from Logar Province.

Ten additional victims whose identities remain undisclosed All injured individuals were immediately transported to Emergency Hospital, where they remain under critical medical care. The Taliban has acknowledged the attack, confirming an internal investigation and vowing retribution against those involved.
