RASC News Agency: Local sources confirm that a powerful explosion struck Kunduz City on Tuesday morning, February 11, at approximately 8:30 AM, near the entrance of Kabul Bank. The blast claimed the lives of at least 22 Taliban fighters and left over 30 others wounded. According to a credible source, Zakaria, the commander of the Taliban’s Fourth Security District in Kunduz, was among those killed. Reports indicate that the bodies of the deceased have been transferred to the Taliban’s 217 Omari Corps Clinic in Kunduz. While the Taliban have acknowledged the explosion, they have refrained from disclosing the precise number of casualties.
Local sources suggest that the death toll may rise, as many of the injured remain in critical condition. Thus far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Notably, this incident follows a recent Taliban directive warning their fighters against visiting banks to collect salaries due to security threats. This attack underscores the Taliban’s mounting vulnerabilities a grim reflection of the very terror they inflicted upon government employees and civilians for two decades. Despite their return to power, the group remains mired in arrogance, ethnic supremacy, and the illusion of absolute control.
Since seizing control, the Taliban have subjected the Afghanistani people to unparalleled repression shutting down educational institutions for women, purging skilled professionals from government institutions, and erecting an exclusionary, ethnocentric regime. Their governance, rooted in tribalism and prejudice, has alienated vast swathes of the population, deepening instability and fueling widespread resentment across the country.
