RASC News Agency: A senior member of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan states that the Taliban movement has recognized the deadlock they face, with several of its leaders considering the formation of a transitional government as a potential solution. Abdul Hafeez Mansoor explained, “Confidential reports from within the Taliban suggest that, in order to resolve the current impasse, the Haqqani network and some leaders from Kandahar view the creation of a transitional government as the way forward.” Mansoor emphasized that the Taliban has acknowledged the deadlock and no longer sees a viable path for their survival in the current political process.
The leader of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan further stated, “The Haqqani network and several Kandahari Taliban leaders believe that forming a transitional government, headed by a neutral figure with members from diverse factions, is the only way to gain both the Afghan people’s trust and the support of the international community.” He also noted, “This proposal is being supported by key figures in the Trump administration, as well as countries like Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia.” Mansoor added that, in contrast to the Haqqani network, Mullah Hibatullah and his followers remain committed to preserving the Emirate and the position of Emir-ul-Momineen. They are primarily focused on incorporating new figures into their ministries, attempting to give their administration a fresh appearance.
Mansoor confirmed, “There are already signs emerging that certain prominent figures are actively pursuing the presidency of a transitional government.” Previously, Hafeez Mansoor had revealed that some factions within the Taliban, including the Haqqani network, are pushing for significant changes in the Taliban regime.
