RASC News Agency: Turkish authorities have recently reported the detention of 40 Afghanistani asylum seekers during the inspection of cargo vehicles in the city of Amasya. According to Turkish media reports published on Saturday, March 30th, these asylum seekers were concealed in a food-carrying vehicle traveling from Agri city to Istanbul.

Turkish authorities have stated that these Afghanistani asylum seekers will be deported after completing the administrative procedures. Reports indicate that many of the detained asylum seekers were between 18 and 25 years old, including women. The process of detaining and deporting Afghanistani asylum seekers has significantly increased in recent months from Turkey, Iran, and Pakistan.

Previously, Turkish media had announced that hundreds of Afghanistani asylum seekers had been detained by the police of this country due to a “lack of residency documents.” Statistics show that currently, over three hundred thousand Afghanistani asylum seekers reside in Turkey, and recently, the detention and deportation of them have intensified due to the lack of residency documents.

After the Taliban’s takeover of the country, the migration of citizens to neighboring and regional countries has increased due to restrictions imposed by this group.
