RASC News Agency: The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan has claimed responsibility for last night’s explosion in Kunduz, asserting that it successfully eliminated three Taliban fighters. In an official statement, the Resistance Front declared that its forces launched an assault on a Taliban security outpost near the group’s provincial police headquarters at approximately 7:40 PM on Tuesday, February 4. According to the statement, the attack also left another Taliban militant wounded, while a Taliban vehicle was destroyed in the operation. Independent sources had previously reported an explosion at the former Kunduz provincial police headquarters, now under Taliban control.
Preliminary reports from local sources indicated that two Taliban fighters had been killed. It is noteworthy that the National Resistance Front and the Freedom Front have remained steadfast in their defiance of Taliban rule since Afghanistan fell to the group, refusing to yield to propaganda and external pressure. Over the past two and a half years, these two resistance movements have conducted targeted operations, eliminating thousands of Taliban operatives in the capital and various provinces.
For the past three years, the Taliban have sought to convince the international community and their foreign backers that they have established nationwide security and that no other armed factions operate within Afghanistan. However, the sustained and coordinated attacks by anti-Taliban resistance forces have significantly undermined this narrative, exposing the group’s tenuous grip on power.
