RASC News Agency: Pakistan’s state radio, citing informed sources, has reported that the Taliban have refused to accept the body of Badruddin, the son of the group’s deputy governor in Badghis, who was killed in a clash with Pakistani security forces in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. On January 31, security sources informed the media that Badruddin was among three militants eliminated during a Pakistani military operation in Kulachi, Dera Ismail Khan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to these sources, Badruddin Yusuf served as an instructor at a Pakistani Taliban training facility.
On Monday, Radio Pakistan reported that despite repeated requests from Islamabad, Taliban officials have refused to repatriate Badruddin’s body. The outlet further disclosed that “advanced U.S.-manufactured equipment, along with firearms, was recovered from the slain militants.” Pakistani military analysts assert that the death of the Badghis deputy governor’s son serves as compelling evidence of the deep-rooted ties between the Afghanistani Taliban and Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
Earlier this month, Pakistan repatriated the body of an Afghanistani national who had been involved in terrorist activities and was killed during an intelligence-led operation in Zhob, Balochistan. The Pakistani military’s public relations department described the incident as “undeniable proof of Afghanistani nationals’ complicity in terrorist operations within Pakistan.” Following the collapse of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan’s fragile ceasefire agreement with Islamabad, terrorist attacks in Pakistan have surged. Reports indicate that thousands of TTP militants continue to operate training camps and military bases across Afghanistan, enjoying financial, political, and intelligence support from the Taliban regime.
