Taliban Ranger Vehicle Hits Civilian in Kabul, Leaving Him Hospitalized

RASC News Agency: Reports from Kabul indicate that a Taliban Ranger vehicle struck a civilian, leaving him critically injured and hospitalized. Eyewitnesses attribute the incident to the reckless driving and excessive speed of the Taliban personnel, which prevented the victim from escaping harm. A witness, who shared a video recording of the incident, stated that the Ranger vehicle struck the man in the Timurshahi area of Kabul. The witness alleged that the vehicle, belonging to the Taliban’s First District, deliberately targeted the victim on Saturday afternoon, January 11.

According to the witness, the victim’s brother was also assaulted by Taliban forces following the collision. Additional sources disclosed that the victim was hit while walking on the sidewalk, far from the main road. The injured man, who was unconscious at the scene, was transported to a hospital. His current condition remains unclear. This incident is part of a growing pattern of Taliban vehicles causing harm to civilians. Previously, a Taliban Ranger struck two residents of Panjshir province, who later succumbed to their injuries. Similar reports of Taliban vehicles injuring and killing civilians have become increasingly frequent over the past three years.

Observers and residents accuse Taliban drivers of widespread recklessness, displaying a blatant disregard for public safety. Their excessive speed and dangerous driving habits have forced many pedestrians to avoid even sidewalks for fear of being struck. Despite these incidents, justice remains elusive. Critics argue that the Taliban consistently absolve themselves of blame, ruling in their favor regardless of the evidence. To date, the group has shown no willingness to acknowledge responsibility or hold its members accountable for such incidents.
