RASC News Agency: Local sources in Parwan province have reported the mysterious killing of a young man, allegedly at the hands of Taliban members. The incident occurred at approximately 12:30 PM on Monday, December 30, in the village of Abedkhil, located in Jabal al-Saraj district of Parwan province, according to the sources. Eyewitnesses have implicated the Taliban in the killing. This marks yet another instance of the group being accused of carrying out covert and serial murders across Afghanistan. Human rights activists have attributed these acts to the Taliban’s entrenched prejudice, ethnic discrimination, and hostility towards residents of the northern provinces, leading to the systematic targeting and killing of young individuals.
The victim, identified as Mosawer, was reportedly killed with a hunting rifle. While the motive and direct perpetrators remain unconfirmed, local sources strongly suspect Taliban involvement. Another source described Mosawer as a farmer with no known personal conflicts or enmities. Only a week earlier, two other individuals were murdered in the province during the night by unidentified armed assailants, whose identities remain unknown. The recent uptick in mysterious and serial killings in Parwan has alarmed residents. Last Thursday night, December 26, unknown gunmen allegedly dressed in Taliban uniforms shot and killed a former officer of the Ministry of Interior in Charikar, the provincial capital of Parwan.
Moreover, the Taliban has been intensifying its targeting of young men from northern provinces, particularly Takhar, Panjshir, and Parwan, accusing them of collaborating with the National Resistance Front and other anti-Taliban factions. These individuals are frequently detained and imprisoned without any transparent legal proceedings, exacerbating the already dire human rights situation in the region.
