Resilient Women’s Coalition Urges Global Action Against the Taliban

RASC News Agency: The Resilient Women’s Coalition of Afghanistan has issued a fervent appeal to the international community, human rights advocates, and Afghanistani citizens, calling for immediate and decisive action against the Taliban regime. Led by renowned women’s rights activist Naweeda Khorasani, the coalition proclaimed that “the suffering has reached unbearable limits, and the answer lies in resistance.” This powerful declaration, issued from an undisclosed location in Kabul, underscores the urgency of countering the Taliban’s escalating oppression.

In a defiant slogan directed at the global community, the group implored: “Do not remain silent. Act now!” The women, assembled in secrecy within Kabul, emphasized that their gathering was a symbolic act of resistance aimed at capturing international attention and urging nations to implement concrete measures against the Taliban’s autocratic rule. Addressing the world, the coalition declared: “Let us unite our voices against this tyranny. Join us in dismantling the Taliban and reclaiming freedom, dignity, and justice for Afghanistan.”

They further warned that without substantial support for Afghanistani women, their futures under the Taliban’s oppressive rule would be irrevocably bleak. This courageous demonstration follows the Taliban’s recent decree banning women from pursuing medical education in health institutes. Noor Jalal Jalali, the Taliban’s Minister of Public Health, announced during a meeting with health institute officials in Kabul on Monday that female students would no longer be permitted to enroll in or attend such institutions. This regressive policy has provoked widespread outrage both domestically and internationally. The United Nations and organizations supporting Afghanistan civil society have condemned the decision as “horrific and deeply alarming.”

In response, protests have already erupted, with female students in Badakhshan taking to the streets to denounce the ban. Many activists and citizens alike have called for the immediate reversal of this draconian decision, which they see as a direct assault on women’s rights and a grave violation of human dignity.
