RASC News Agency: Reports from Kabul indicate that Taliban forces have been conducting invasive house-to-house searches across the city, allegedly seizing jewelry, cash, and personal belongings from residents. According to local sources, Taliban fighters have taken valuables from numerous families over the past few days.
Fearing reprisal, many residents have remained silent; however, one man recounted his ordeal: “After the Taliban searched through the women’s trunks and bags, they left. Only a minute later, I realized my wife’s jewelry was missing. When I approached them, saying something was stolen, instead of questioning their men, they beat me and unleashed a barrage of insults and abuse.”
Eyewitnesses claim Taliban fighters entered homes with their boots on, disrupting personal spaces and ransacking belongings under the pretense of searching. One Kabul resident confirmed that Taliban forces even confiscated his books during one of these inspections. Since Tuesday of last week, the Taliban have intensified their house-to-house searches in various districts of Kabul.
Local residents previously raised concerns over the “improper” conduct of Taliban fighters, pointing out the absence of female officers during searches in households where women reside. As of now, the Taliban have issued no official response to these allegations.
