RASC News Agency: Local sources from Herat report that a man in the province has horrifically raped and murdered a young girl. The Taliban’s Ministry of Interior confirmed the crime in a statement, revealing that the man sexually assaulted the girl before taking her life in a brutal act of violence. Abdul Mateen Qane, spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Interior, announced today Thursday, October 10, that the perpetrator had been arrested following the assault and murder of the child.

In a post on X, the spokesperson stated: “The detained individual first kidnapped a young girl, the daughter of one of his relatives in the Injil district of Herat. After sexually assaulting the child, he heinously and ruthlessly killed her.” He further added that the man was arrested in a targeted operation and confessed to his crime during preliminary investigations. The spokesperson did not disclose the exact date of the assault and murder. However, local sources had previously reported on the September 23, that the body of a seven-year-old girl had been discovered in the province.

At that time, sources indicated that “unknown individuals” had viciously killed the child, dismembering her hands and feet. The girl had reportedly disappeared from the Nowabad area, part of Herat’s 11th district. Similar horrific incidents have occurred across various provinces, with some members of the population accusing Taliban affiliates of being involved in murders and sexual assaults in the past.
