National Resistance Front: Two Taliban Fighters Killed, Three Injured in Panjshir

RASC News Agency: The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan (NRF) has announced that its forces carried out an assault on Taliban fighters in Panjshir, resulting in the deaths of two Taliban members and injuries to three others. The NRF recently disclosed details of this operation, which took place in the Hesa-e-Awal district of Panjshir province. According to the NRF, the attack led to the elimination of two Taliban special forces personnel, while three others sustained injuries.

The NRF’s statement clarified that the assault occurred at 5:00 PM on Sunday, September 29, in the village of Omarz, with no casualties reported among NRF fighters. In a separate communication, the NRF claimed responsibility for an attack on Taliban forces in Kabul. Over the past three days, the NRF has also reported conducting similar operations against the Taliban in Parwan and Badakhshan, resulting in additional Taliban casualties, according to the group’s statements.

Taliban security officials have yet to comment on these attacks. While the Taliban have prohibited Afghanistan media from covering operations linked to the NRF and the Afghanistan Freedom Front, a recent United Nations Security Council report, published on September 7, highlighted that over the past three months, the NRF and the Afghanistan Freedom Front carried out 73 attacks on Taliban positions in various cities, including Kabul. In response to this report, the NRF claimed it had launched 117 attacks, not 73 as stated by the UN.

The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan was formed in response to the Taliban’s takeover of the country’s provinces and immediately launched armed resistance against the Taliban regime. The NRF is led by Ahmad Massoud, son of the iconic anti-Taliban commander Ahmad Shah Massoud.
