RASC News Agency: Local sources from Ghor province report a gruesome incident in which Taliban intelligence forces tortured a young man, gouged out his eyes, and subsequently killed him. On Saturday, September 7th, sources confirmed that the young man had been arrested two weeks ago in Ferozkoh, the provincial capital of Ghor, by Taliban operatives. The victim, identified as Kamaluddin Nezami, had recently returned from Iran. Sources disclosed that Kamaluddin was subjected to three days of severe torture by Taliban intelligence before they viciously removed his eyes and murdered him.
Kamaluddin was a student of accounting at a university in Shiraz, Iran. Some Taliban-affiliated sources alleged that he was killed for purported links to anti-Taliban forces an accusation his family staunchly rejects. According to his relatives, Kamaluddin had no involvement with any political or military organizations and was solely focused on his studies. As is common, the Taliban have offered no official statement regarding this atrocity.
This shocking event echoes a similar incident in Herat, where another young man returning from Iran was also killed under similarly brutal circumstances. The Taliban’s extrajudicial detentions, torture, and executions of young men across Afghanistan are increasingly frequent, with no trials or legal proceedings to justify these heinous acts.
