RASC: According to local sources in Herat province, agents of the so-called Taliban group have arrested a number of employees of the government offices of this province and imprisoned them for some time.

According to the sources, the agents of this group had locked this number of employees in a “container” for hours for shaving and trimming their beards.

Sources said yesterday, Sunday, July 30, that the Taliban group has been identifying and arresting government employees who do not have beards since two weeks.

One of Herat’s civil servants, who did not want to be named in the news, said that he was arrested by the Taliban group for shaving his beard and was imprisoned for nearly 15 hours in a container inside the headquarters of Amr Bil Maruf of this group.

He added that during the last two weeks, this group had arrested nearly 10 to 15 government employees of Herat and imprisoned them for several hours.

Sources have added that the head of the Taliban group in Herat has warned all employees of government offices, including doctors of hospitals in this province, that if they shave their beards, they will be arrested and imprisoned.

The Taliban group has not yet said anything about this.

The Taliban group’s restrictions on people’s social life, especially women and girls who were deprived of education and the continuation of this situation brought criticism from international institutions, but this group did not make any changes in their policies.

It is well known that the Taliban group has humiliated the youth in different provinces of the country before this because of cutting or shaving their beards and hair.
