Teaching Positions in Takhar Sold for 50,000 to 60,000 Kabuli Rupees

RASC News Agency: Local sources in Takhar have revealed that the Taliban’s Head of Education, in coordination with the group’s recruitment officer, is selling several teaching positions in this province. On Saturday, September 7, sources from the Taliban’s Education Department in Takhar informed the media that a number of teaching positions in girls’ schools, including Number One, Bibi Maryam, Bibi Hawa, Chashma-e-Shir High School, and the Mullah Abdul Wadood Shaheed School in Taloqan, were sold by the Taliban’s Education Director, who then recruited teachers for these posts.

According to sources, the Taliban’s Education Director, in coordination with the recruitment officer of the department, sold vacant teaching positions in Taloqan for 60,000 Kabuli Rupees and in the district areas of the province for 50,000 Kabuli Rupees. The sources specified that the newly hired teachers were first identified by school principals and then introduced to the Education Department. So far, officials from the Taliban’s Education Department in Takhar have not commented on the matter.

Previously, the Taliban’s Education Department in Takhar had dismissed several experienced and skilled employees, replacing them with individuals aligned with their regime. Financial and administrative corruption significantly contributed to the collapse of the former republic, paving the way for the Taliban’s return to power. The Taliban had promised to implement an Islamic system and fight corruption as part of their agenda. However, in the three years since their return, it appears that they have become deeply entrenched in bribery and corruption, surpassing the level of malpractice seen in the previous government over a decade.
