RASC News Agency: A spokesperson for the U.S. State Department told Fox News that Washington does not support armed action in Afghanistan, emphasizing that the country has been embroiled in conflict for 44 years, and the United States does not wish to see a return to violence in the region The spokesperson, whose name was not disclosed in the report, further clarified, “The Afghanistani people themselves do not desire the continuation of war in their country.”
This statement comes in contrast to recent remarks by Michael McCaul, Chairman of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee, who expressed support for Ahmad Massoud in a post on X (formerly Twitter). McCaul announced that he would meet with representatives of the Afghanistan Resistance Front on September 10. In his message, McCaul highlighted his longstanding relationship with Massoud, stating that Ahmad Massoud will be present during the presentation of the Foreign Affairs Committee’s report on the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan, which is set to be released on September 9.
The American spokesperson’s remarks come at a time when the Afghanistani people are worn down by the Taliban’s oppression and widespread unemployment, fostering a strong desire for conflict and the overthrow of the Taliban regime. The National Resistance Front and the Freedom Front of Afghanistan continue to wage war against this terrorist group. It appears that the United States is adopting a dual approach regarding Afghanistan, sometimes appearing to defend the Taliban, and at other times, supporting the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, the Afghanistani people are suffocating under the weight of poverty and unemployment, their hopes for a better life dwindling. Life under Taliban rule has become unbearable for them. Since the Taliban’s rise to power in Afghanistan, poverty has soared, driving some to the brink of despair, with some tragically resorting to suicide as a consequence of their extreme destitution.
