RASC News Agency: A spokesperson from the U.S. State Department has stated that the United States does not support armed conflict in Afghanistan. Speaking to Fox News, the spokesperson emphasized that Afghanistan has endured 44 years of continuous war, and the U.S. does not wish to see a resurgence of conflict in the country. The spokesperson stressed, “The Afghanistani people also do not want the continuation of war.”
This statement aligns with the claims made by the Taliban, who assert that the Afghanistani people are weary of war and do not desire another conflict, thereby justifying their control over Afghanistan. However, this alignment of views between the U.S. and the Taliban is seen as unfair and unrealistic by many, suggesting that the Taliban is, in fact, an American project designed to further U.S. imperialist agendas in the region through the proxy of the Taliban. The U.S. State Department’s defense of the Taliban regime comes just days after the Chairman of the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee announced his support for the National Resistance Front’s fight against the Taliban.
Ali Maisam Nazary, Head of Foreign Relations for the National Resistance Front (NRF), who is currently visiting the United States, has called for U.S. support in their armed struggle against the Taliban. In an interview with Fox News, Nazary stated, “We believe that with minimal support, we can defeat terrorism within Afghanistan.” He added that the NRF forces are composed of former Afghanistan security personnel who were trained by U.S. and international forces for 20 years to combat terrorism. He emphasized, “We have the most capable units that can fight terrorists, and we have been doing so for the past three years without any external support.”
Fox News reported on Saturday that given the multiple global crises and the looming contentious presidential elections in the U.S., the American government appears reluctant to engage in discussions about the situation in Afghanistan three years after the withdrawal. The network also noted that the resistance against the Taliban continues to be ignored by both the U.S. and the West. Fox News, citing a report from the United Nations Security Council, noted that contrary to its commitments, the Taliban has provided a haven for terrorist groups, including Al-Qaeda, within Afghanistan. According to the UN report, Al-Qaeda has re-established its bases in several provinces across Afghanistan.
The unified stance of the U.S. State Department and the Taliban reinforces the belief held by many experts that the Taliban is an American project in the region. This is further evidenced by the U.S.’s weekly provision of $40 million to the Taliban, a group that is widely regarded as a terrorist organization.
