RASC News Agency: Local sources report that a man named Mohammad Nabi, a resident of the Zibak District center in Badakhshan, was forcibly removed from his home at night, tortured, and subsequently beheaded by Taliban militants. According to these sources, a local Taliban commander known as Mawlawi Muaz had repeatedly contacted Nabi, demanding that he surrender his weapon due to his previous service in the former government’s army. He had been repeatedly threatened with death on the suspicion of possessing a firearm. Despite several attempts to seek protection from local Taliban authorities, his pleas were ignored.
A local source disclosed that Nabi was subjected to severe torture, including being forced to stand in water, having shots fired around him, and being hung from a bridge. In his desperation, he even offered to sell his land to purchase a weapon to satisfy his tormentors. The source further added that Nabi’s family and the entire community were fully aware of his ordeal.
Reports indicate that over the past three years, the Taliban have killed thousands of former Afghanistan National Army soldiers, particularly in the northern and northeastern regions of Afghanistan. The Badakhshan Taliban, often referred to as the “Vanguard of Fascism,” have adopted the brutal practice of beheading from their southern counterparts. From past to present, these Taliban militants in Badakhshan have carried out hundreds of extrajudicial executions without any legal proceedings. With the Taliban regime operating in the absence of law and justice, no individual or entity has yet been held accountable for these egregious crimes.
