RASC News Agency: Local sources from Helmand Province report that an armed assault on a house in Nawa District resulted in three fatalities. An anonymous local source stated that the attack occurred around 10:00 PM on Tuesday August 6, in the “Shnah Kalay” area of Nawa District.
According to the source, the assailants initially threw a grenade at a family who were having dinner, then entered the house and opened fire on the occupants. The identities of the victims and the motive behind the attack remain unknown. The perpetrators have not been identified. This incident is part of a broader trend of increasing insecurity, mysterious killings, assassinations, and even suicides following the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan.
Recently, unidentified gunmen killed a man in Ghor Province, but the identities of the attackers remain unknown, and the Taliban have not pursued the motive behind the murder. Simultaneously, the body of a 16-year-old girl, who had been beaten and killed, was discovered in Helmand. Additionally, unidentified assailants in Balkh Province killed a doctor and wounded his brother. The Taliban security officials in Helmand have remained silent on these incidents.
Daily reports emerge of mysterious killings and the discovery of bodies across various provinces. Unidentified gunmen are often cited as responsible for most of these mysterious killings. Many believe that the Taliban are behind these murders, especially the mysterious ones. The Taliban reportedly harass, detain, and imprison individuals based on ethnic and regional biases.
The arbitrary detention of Tajiks by the Taliban continues daily. This group deliberately targets, detains, imprisons, and tortures youths, particularly former government soldiers. Revenge, harassment, and ethnic discrimination are rampant among Taliban fighters, with many individuals being imprisoned and tortured solely for being Tajik.
