RASC News Agency: Turkish media have reported the detention of 40 Afghanistani asylum seekers in the cities of Agri and Balıkesir. Media sources today, Tuesday, Apr 9, have reported that 33 Afghanistani asylum seekers were detained by police security forces in the city of Balıkesir and transferred to refugee camps.

Meanwhile, seven other Afghanistani asylum seekers have also been detained in the city of Agri. According to Turkish media reports, one person has been arrested on charges of organizing illegal migration to Turkey. Media outlets have reported that in these incidents, five individuals, including two Iranian drivers, have also been arrested.

Reports indicate that two firearms have also been discovered and confiscated in this incident. It is worth mentioning that Turkey has detained and deported tens of thousands of Afghanistani asylum seekers from the country in the past two years. Turkish authorities have repeatedly stated that they do not grant residence permits to any immigrant without legal documentation in the country.
