Sources informed the media that the deceased, identified as “Mullah Israel,” was shot dead at approximately 9:00 AM on Sunday, July 28, near the Tagab Alam bridge, with a Kalashnikov rifle.
According to sources, Mullah Israel served as the Head of Education and Training in the Taliban’s district police command in Tagab Alam, Badghis province. The Taliban have announced that one individual has been arrested in connection with this killing. However, the motive behind the murder remains unclear, and local Taliban officials in Badghis have yet to comment on the incident.
This event comes amid a noticeable rise in criminal activities, including targeted killings, armed robberies, and kidnappings, under Taliban rule across various parts of the country. In a recent case, unknown gunmen shot and killed a religious scholar in the Darah Boom district of Badghis. Additionally, two individuals were killed in Bamiyan and Ghazni provinces in the past few hours.
