Taliban warns Tajiks in Imam Sahib, Kunduz, Vacate Their Homes

RASC News Agency: Local sources from Kunduz province report that Taliban forces have ordered residents of the fourth district of Imam Sahib to vacate their homes, with some individuals detained by the group. On Sunday, July 21, sources informed the media that nearly 90 percent of the residents in the fourth district of Imam Sahib are Tajiks, and the local Taliban have demanded they vacate their homes.

According to these sources, the Taliban claim that these homes were built on government land and stated that nearly 20 residents who resisted were beaten and subsequently detained. Residents of the area have appealed to Taliban officials in Kabul for justice, but the group has reiterated its order. The residents of the fourth district of Imam Sahib assert that their homes were built on their private land.

Local Taliban officials in Kunduz have not yet commented on this issue. It is worth noting that the Taliban have previously engaged in discriminatory practices against other ethnic groups, violating their rights. In a related incident, Taliban forces recently allocated land belonging to Tajiks in Takhar province to returning refugees from Pakistan.

Since taking control of the country, the Taliban have seized citizens’ land in various regions, declaring it government property, which has provoked public outcry.
