RASC: The commander of the Zabul border regiment in Iran has announced the deportation of more than 4,500 Afghanistani immigrants from this country.
He said that in the past 24 hours, the number of immigrants, who had reached 4,574 people and had entered Iran illegally, was returned to Afghanistan through the Milak border.
Officials have said that these immigrants were expelled from Iran due to their illegal entry and stay and the expiry of their passports.
Parwiz Qasimzada, the commander of the Zabul border regiment, told Tasnim news agency on Sunday, July 30, that this action was taken in order to “prevent and manage the negative effects and social problems of the phenomenon of illegal immigration, especially delinquency.”
Meanwhile, this official of the Islamic Republic added that the border guards have identified and arrested nearly 245 “illegal” citizens who wanted to enter Iran without considering the forbidden territory in the last 48 hours.
It should be noted that recently, the process of arresting and deporting Afghanistani immigrants has increased significantly.
In the latest case, Khorasan border guard commander Razawi said that he had deported more than 7,500 Afghanistani immigrants from Iran.
Following the domination of the Taliban group in Afghanistan, many people were forced to leave the country and immigrate to neighboring countries, including Iran.
Official statistics indicate that more than five million Afghan immigrants live in Iran. Most of them entered illegally.
The presence of Afghanistani immigrants in Iran is said to be the result of several decades of instability and political conflict in Afghanistan.
