RASC News Agency: Local sources from Herat province report that a traffic accident has resulted in the deaths of five individuals and left two others injured. Sources informed the media on Friday, July 20, that the incident occurred on the Herat-Islam Qala highway.

According to these sources, a collision between a cargo truck and a Toyota Corolla caused the fatalities. The condition of the two injured individuals is reported to be critical. Local Taliban officials in Herat have not yet commented on the incident. This accident is part of a troubling trend, as the number of traffic accidents in various provinces has significantly increased in recent days, resulting in numerous casualties.

Most recently, two days ago, a traffic accident in Herat claimed the lives of three individuals, including a delegation from the Taliban’s Ministry of Public Health. Careless driving, poor road conditions, excessive speed, and the lack of traffic signs on many highways are cited as the primary reasons for the increasing number of traffic accidents in the country.
