RASC News Agency: More than 1,500 Afghanistani migrants were expelled from Pakistan and Iran in a single day, returning to their homeland. The majority of these migrants were forcibly expelled. The Ministry of Refugees under Taliban administration stated in a press release that on Sunday, July 14, 1,614 individuals were deported from Iran and Pakistan, both forcibly and voluntarily.
According to the press release, Pakistan expelled 184 individuals, while Iran deported 1,430 Afghanistani migrants. The ministry further reported that 184 individuals entered Afghanistan through the Torkham border crossing. Simultaneously, 1,430 others entered the country via the Silk Bridge border in Nimruz. This expulsion follows a similar incident the previous day when nearly 2,000 Afghanistani migrants were deported from Pakistan and Iran, both forcibly and voluntarily.
Most of these migrants are expelled against their will. They do not wish to return to Afghanistan and are reluctant to leave the host countries. They had migrated due to unemployment, insecurity, and societal incompatibility in Afghanistan and thus have no desire to return. Host countries arrest and deport them following detention. The deportation process has intensified in recent months. Besides Iran and Pakistan, Germany and Turkey have also escalated this process.
Notably, following the confirmation of the suspension of the deportation process of Afghanistani migrants by Pakistan, as reported by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the process has not been halted and continues.
