RASC News Agency: The fourth session of the Vienna Conference took place moments ago on June 24 in Vienna, the capital of Austria. Supported by international partners and attended by representatives from nearly ten political-military factions, civil society, media, university professors, members of academic and intellectual institutions, and influential figures opposed to the Taliban, the conference was convened with a specific agenda focused on discussions and dialogues concerning Afghanistan.
It is anticipated that this conference will reconcile political differences among participants and establish a foundation for a unified and shared vision for Afghanistan’s future. The Vienna Process represents the largest international initiative supporting military and political opposition to the Taliban, aimed at achieving political unity and fostering a coherent perspective among free Afghanistanis within Afghanistan. Having been convened three times previously, it is poised to continue as the most authoritative and inclusive forum going forward.
Nearly 70 participants engaged in discussions and dialogues over two days regarding Afghanistan’s current state, intending to present the outcomes of these discussions as a “roadmap” for the Afghanistani people.
Individuals and independent factions participating in this conference include members of the National Resistance Council of Afghanistan, the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, the Islamic Society Party of Afghanistan, the National Movement Party of Afghanistan, the Islamic Unity Party of Afghanistan, the Afghanistan Freedom Front, and notable figures such as Dr. Rangin Spanta, Ambassador Taib Jawad, Fouzia Koofi, Shaharzad Akbar, Rahmatullah Yarmal, Dr. Nazif Shahrani, Ajmal Shinwari, Dr. Hussain Yasa, Mohibullah Samim, Sham Batija, Dr. Anarkali Honaryar, Farida Baloch, Dr. Mustafa Mastoor, Shah Mahmood Miakhel, Abdul Karim Khadam, Khalid Pashtoon, Yousuf Pashtoon, Faizullah Zaki, Sima Samar, Dawood Najafi, and Dr. Yilmaz Rahim. Rahmatullah Nabil, previously slated to attend, was unable to participate due to his mother’s illness.
