RASC News Agency: Local sources report that Taliban officials forcibly seized and slaughtered ten sheep and goats from residents of Farhar district in Takhar province, hosting a private feast with the meat. Villagers from Khosdeh in Farhar district stated that the Taliban, under threats and coercion, took ten sheep and goats from livestock owners and used the meat for their personal gathering.
Two sources, who requested anonymity, reported: “Local Taliban, using threats and force, took ten sheep and goats from livestock owners in Khosdeh village and held a private feast today (Tuesday, June 25) on the Khosdeh plains.” The individuals involved in seizing the livestock and organizing the feast include Mawlawi Hanzala, Deputy Supply Commander of the Taliban in Takhar province; Qari Mirowais, head of a jihadist school; and Mawlawi Najib, an associate of Mawlawi Mohsen Hashemi.
A local resident informed RASC News Agency that Taliban members from various districts of Takhar and from Taloqan city attended the feast held on the Khosdeh plains. The villagers lament that despite their dire economic situation under Taliban rule, which leaves them struggling for basic sustenance, they are compelled to give in to Taliban demands to protect their dignity, honor, and lives.
It is noteworthy that the Taliban have repeatedly committed such acts in the past, forcibly taking and slaughtering villagers’ livestock for their gatherings. Taliban members continue to impose their will on the local populace, seizing what they desire through force. Recently, there have been reports that this group compelled residents of Herat province to pay taxes and give Zakat, despite many lacking the wealth to meet the religious threshold for Zakat.
