RASC News Agency: Statistics compiled from Taliban statements indicate that in the past 44 days alone, the Taliban have publicly lashed nearly 150 individuals across 16 provinces of the country. Reports from the Taliban-controlled Supreme Court indicate that from the beginning of May to mid-June, they lashed 148 individuals, including 14 women, across sixteen provinces.
Citizens of the country assert that the Taliban have not changed and are once again imposing their past practices on the people of Afghanistan. Human rights activists and legal experts also criticize the Taliban’s harsh approach, emphasizing that their current behavior towards the country’s citizens violates human rights values and is illegal. Over the past one and a half months, the Taliban have announced through their statements the flogging of several citizens of the country.
Citizens who consider themselves criminals have been tried and condemned based on their own principles and interpretations of Sharia. The Taliban have reported flogging 150 individuals, including 14 in the provinces of Sarpol, Kandahar, Paktia, Ghazni, Nimroz, Ghor, Kunduz, Badakhshan, and Khost.
