RASC News Agency: Abdul Aziz Sakhi Zada, a news anchor for Ariana News, reported that he was assaulted by two individuals who identified themselves as Taliban members. Sakhi Zada disclosed this incident on Thursday, June 13, through a post on his Facebook page.

He stated, “I was beaten by two individuals who introduced themselves as Taliban.” However, he did not provide further details regarding the time and location of the incident. The Taliban have not yet commented on this event. It is important to note that since their takeover, the Taliban have detained, imprisoned, and tortured numerous journalists.

Organizations advocating for journalists have consistently expressed concerns about the Taliban’s restrictive policies towards the media in the country. In many Taliban-controlled provinces in Afghanistan, information is significantly censored, and the media lacks the freedom to operate.
