RASC News Agency: The Taliban Ministry of Migrants and Returnees stated in a press release that over 2,000 Afghanistani refugees have entered Afghanistan from the Islam Qala and Torkham borders. This ministry, on Sunday, May 12th, through its bulletin on X platform, reported that 1,795 Afghan refugees arrived in Herat from Iran yesterday via the Islam Qala border crossing.

The bulletin added that among the expelled refugees, there are unaccompanied children whose families remain in Iran. It is reported that Pakistan also expelled over 349 Afghanistani refugees forcibly from the country on the previous day. According to this bulletin, the returning refugees from Pakistan include 65 families who entered the country via the Torkham border crossing.

It should be noted that the Islamic Republic of Iran had previously announced its policy of expelling Afghanistani refugees from the country, stating that, based on the plan of the Ministry of Interior of this country, the process of identifying, detaining, and expelling Afghanistani refugees has intensified this year. Meanwhile, Pakistani authorities had also announced the second phase of expelling Afghanistani refugees in this country, stating that the country had expelled refugees collectively and had given them one month to leave the country.

The trend of Afghanistani asylum seekers in neighboring countries and the world has increased with the Taliban taking control of the country, and it is estimated that close to six million Afghanistani refugees are in Iran, five million in Pakistan, and a significant number in European and American countries seeking refuge.
