RASC News Agency: Local Taliban officials have reported that severe flooding in Badakhshan Province has resulted in significant financial losses and numerous fatalities. Mohammad Karmgaar, the Taliban’s Director of Natural Disaster Management in Badakhshan, stated that floods on Saturday night, May 25th, in the village of Morchak, located in the ninth district of Faizabad city, claimed the lives of ten family members.

According to Karmgaar, this natural disaster also destroyed homes in seven areas within Faizabad, the capital of Badakhshan Province. He added that the previous night’s floods also caused fatalities and substantial financial damage in the districts of Yamgan, Kishm, Warduj, and Shuhada.

Precise figures for the casualties and damages from these floods have not yet been released. Additionally, the floods over the past three days in Badakhshan have blocked access to several districts, leading to further casualties and significant financial losses for residents. Over the past week, several provinces, particularly in the north, have experienced heavy rainfall and devastating floods, resulting in numerous fatalities and extensive financial damage for the inhabitants of these regions.
