RASC News Agency: Several civil activists and political analysts in western Afghanistan assert that senior Taliban officials based in the capital lack proper etiquette for both official and unofficial international trips. This deficiency has brought shame upon Afghanistan in the eyes of officials from various countries. Jamil Ghulami, a political analyst in western Afghanistan, informed RASC News Agency on Thursday, May 23rd, that one of the reasons the Taliban have not yet received official recognition is their lack of proper decorum in both domestic and international meetings.
He added that the Taliban have forfeited whatever minimal credibility they had with the international community due to their inappropriate conduct. Ghafour Jahani, a civil activist in Afghanistan, pointed out that the top-ranking Taliban officials have educational levels below the “twelfth and fourteenth grades,” making it unreasonable to expect them to meet international diplomatic standards.
He remarked, “The Taliban lack strong diplomacy in international meetings with regional and global leaders. How can the Afghanistani people trust such a group?” In addressing the people of Afghanistan, he stressed that patience and resilience are essential in these challenging times.
He stated, “The Afghanistani people are currently held captive by the Taliban in this crisis, but the day will come when God will end these tribulations.” Rafiq Qasemi, an expert in western Afghanistan, affirmed that the presence of the Taliban has brought disgrace to the entire nation. He asserted that the Taliban only seek misery and destruction for the Afghanistani people.
He added, “If a survey were conducted on the positive or negative performance of the Taliban in Afghanistan, you would find that not even one percent of the population is fully satisfied with any member of this group.” Qasemi highlighted, “If an election were held in Afghanistan with the Taliban fielding a candidate, they wouldn’t even secure a fourth or fifth-place finish in the popular vote.”
He noted that while some Taliban members may have ideological inclinations, these individuals are merely subordinates and lack real influence. It is noteworthy that a high-level Taliban delegation recently traveled to Tehran to attend the funeral of Ayatollah Raisi, President of Iran.
This delegation included Mullah Ghani Baradar, the Taliban’s Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban’s Foreign Minister, and other senior Taliban officials.
It is worth mentioning that Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, refused to meet Mullah Baradar and other Taliban officials, a decision that has sparked significant domestic and international reactions.
