RASC News Agency: The World Health Organization (WHO) has announced the distribution of 25 tons of humanitarian aid to flood victims in Ghor province. On Wednesday, May 22, the WHO shared this update via a post on the social media platform X.

According to the WHO, the distributed aid includes medical kits, tents, and solar lamps for the flood victims in Ghor province. Jamshed Tanoli, WHO’s representative in Afghanistan, stated, “Despite access challenges, our teams, thanks to close collaboration with partners, successfully delivered immediate assistance through the neighboring province of Herat.”

Recent devastating floods in Ghor have resulted in the destruction of at least 3,000 shops and nearly 10,000 residential homes. In the wake of these catastrophic floods, shopkeepers in Ferozkoh, the provincial capital, have appealed to the Taliban for long-term loans.

In recent days, several provinces, particularly Baghlan, Takhar, Ghor, and Faryab, have experienced severe flooding, causing significant financial damage and numerous casualties.
