RASC News Agency: Ahmad Saeedi, a political activist, has characterized the Taliban as mercenaries of America, emphasizing their apparent preference for embracing America. In an exclusive interview with Ya’qub Yasna of RASC News Agency regarding the “Third Doha Meeting and Vienna Conference,” Mr. Saeedi remarked, “The Taliban show eagerness to embrace America over China, Iran, and other regional countries.” He elaborated, “America tells the Taliban, ‘If China, Iran, and regional countries abandon you, we will embrace you.'”
Mr. Saeedi further noted that Iran aimed to free the Taliban from America’s influence, advocating for Afghanistan’s issues to be handled by regional countries like Pakistan and Uzbekistan in their own interests. However, America allegedly thwarted these efforts and shifted responsibility to the United Nations. He stated, “It is now the United Nations’ responsibility to address Afghanistan’s issues, although the organization faces challenges and risks sanctions from Afghanistani women and many Western nations due to the Doha meeting.”
Ahmad Saeedi emphasized that the Taliban prefer closer ties with America, choosing to seek refuge in America’s embrace rather than in regional countries. He underscored that regional countries view the Taliban as significant and remain engaged with them. Meanwhile, many regional countries are striving to maintain relations with the Taliban to pursue their interests in Afghanistan.
This situation arises as, following the fall of Afghanistan, America reportedly sends millions of dollars monthly to the Taliban. The Taliban claim victory over America and express a fondness for embracing America. This group has persistently sought a strong alliance with America.
It is noteworthy that the Third Doha Meeting is scheduled to take place in the coming days, with the Taliban invited to participate. Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban spokesperson and head of their delegation, will attend this meeting.
