RASC News Agency: Following an attack on tourists in Bamyan province by intelligence operatives, the Russian Foreign Ministry has issued a statement urging its citizens to avoid travel to Taliban-controlled Afghanistan under any circumstances. The ministry’s statement expressed concern over the terrorist incident in Afghanistan that resulted in the deaths of foreign tourists.

In an official announcement on Tuesday, May 21, posted on the country’s official website, the Russian Foreign Ministry stated, “Given the current security situation in Afghanistan, which is highly precarious, we strongly advise against traveling to the country for any personal purposes, including tourism.” The ministry warned of the deteriorating security and tourism conditions in Afghanistan, stating that the country is currently unsuitable for tourists and urging all citizens to refrain from traveling there.

Meanwhile, Joshfar, the head of a tourism agency, told Agence France-Presse that such terrorist incidents will “end the tourism industry in Afghanistan.” He added that following the recent Bamyan incident, in which three foreign nationals were killed, several clients have canceled their trips to Afghanistan, and the agency is now reassessing its operations in the country.

Joshfar stated to Agence France-Presse, “We will reduce the number of groups, are in the process of canceling trips to remote locations, and will limit visits to public places.” The Russian Foreign Ministry issued this warning following the attack on Friday, May 17, when unknown gunmen assaulted a group of foreign tourists in Bamyan province, killing six people, including three tourists, and injuring seven others.
