RASC News Agency: Local sources in Helmand have informed the media that the Taliban subjected four individuals to torture, pushing them to the brink of death. This resulted in the loss of lives of two individuals, Abdul Munid and Munir Ahmad, while the other two suffered severe injuries. Sources, on Monday, May 12th, confirmed to the media that Abdul Munid was detained by the Taliban’s morality police and Yasir, the commander of the third security sector of this group in the camp, subsequently lost his life under Taliban militants’ torture.

Sources added that another youth, Munir Ahmad, lost his life due to fatal torture by the commander of the third security sector in the city of Lashkar Gah. Moreover, sources reported severe beating of two other individuals by the Taliban, rendering them unable to walk or speak. It remains unclear why the Taliban detained and murdered these youths in Helmand province.

Based on information from sources, after killing these youths, the Taliban instructed officials at the “Bost Hospital” to record alcohol consumption as the cause of death in the files of the deceased. However, sources from Bost Hospital confirmed to the media that four youths were transferred to this hospital, all severely beaten, showing signs of torture on their bodies.

It was further added from the hospital that out of the four, two lost their lives due to the severity of the torture wounds. Local residents have warned the Taliban that if this event is not addressed, they will protest. Sources also noted that local residents had protested after this event, but the Taliban prevented journalists from covering the demonstrations and obstructed media coverage.

It is worth mentioning that since the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan, this group has been accused of war crimes by human rights organizations. In the past three years, the Taliban have consistently engaged in the arrest, torture, and killing of former government officials and citizens.

Today, sources also reported the death of a former member of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, under Taliban torture in the intelligence prison of this group. This individual was named Mir Afaq and was arrested three months ago by Abdul Hamid Khorasani, one of the Taliban commanders in Kabul.
